Yves Saint Laurent established his luxury prêt-à-porter label in 1961 and revolutionized the way women dressed through a series of iconic silhouettes. One of the most legendary is the brand's Le Smoking tuxedo suit, which first appeared in 1966 and caused scandal thanks to its sensuous femininity. Working in the same vein today current creative director Anthony Vaccarello looks at the classic blazer silhouette with fresh eyes, re-imagining the tailored separate in burgundy velvet offset with black passementerie embroidery. Cut to a boxy fit against the body, this embroidered Saint Laurent blazer features a single central button closure, a broad welt chest pocket, two side slit pockets and long sleeves with four button cuffs. Fully lined in silk, the jacket is finished with two internal flat pockets.
